I have HDMI from PC to the Yamaha receiver.same connection that I use to listen to my flac stereo and Hi res/multi channel files via Foobar. The PC recognizes the MusicHall as a device and I don't have to fool around with the Windows setting to hear the finished product.

Maybe better software out there if you need to do major work.
No cable switching So far, my vinyl has been problem free so no corrections.but VinylStudio has some features to clean things up if necessary.
I can listen to and monitor the record as it is recording because my preamp also has analog out to my Yamaha AV receiver.

USB out from Music Hall PA 2.2 to repurposed PC running Windows 7 just about 10 feet from AV stack. VinylStudio guides you through the various stages more intuitively (at least for my feeble brain). Lots of options with Goldwave, but to me it has a very busy interface.more bells and whistles than I need. This seems to support, at any given time, venue, and equipment deployment a best outcome.

If you would like to use the scarlett-2i2 as your ADC (the device has good reviews btw), you're much better off getting a good phono pre-amp that will do RIAA EQ, and all you need is to connect the phono pre-amp out to the line input on the scarlett-2i2, and off you go! I went down the path of choosing a phono pre-amp with multiple RIAA EQ settings (ifi-iPhono2) and never looked back. IMO, things like doing RIAA EQ in software when it is readily available in any standard phono pre-amp is asking for unwarranted labor, which mostly ends up in futility. I'm a firm believer, after having learnt the hard way, that any adjustment in audio quality, when digitizing vinyl should be done in the analog domain. arlett-2i2 Can you connect your turntable direct to the interface and use the input gain to amplify the signal from the turntable?
